Miley Cyrus experienced a wardrobe malfunction at her New Year’s Eve celebration when her top came off, but she quickly grabbed a blazer and continued singing without missing a beat.
During her New Year’s Eve special on NBC, Miley Cyrus experienced a wardrobe malfunction when her top fell off while she was singing on stage. Quick to react, she turned around, covered herself, and grabbed a blazer from backstage. Despite the mishap, Cyrus continued to sing her hit song “Party in the USA” and even made a joke about the situation, saying, “Everybody’s definitely looking at me now.” The incident didn’t stop her from celebrating the start of 2022 with a memorable performance.
The 29-year-old was the star of NBC’s “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” alongside Pete Davidson. As she belted out the lyrics to “Party in the USA,” it appeared her top decided to bid farewell as well. With quick thinking, she managed to hold it in place before nonchalantly tossing it aside and making a cool exit backstage.
As the band continued to play, Cyrus made a dazzling return in a vibrant red blazer. She carried on with her singing, flashing a smile. “Looks like everyone’s got their eyes on me now,” she playfully remarked, tweaking the song’s lyrics: “I’m still here, decked out in the most attire I’ve ever worn on stage.” After the performance, Saweetie complimented Cyrus, saying, “Miley, you’re still slaying – you know that’s right! You go, best friend!” Later on, Davidson brought up the incident in a light-hearted manner. “I heard there might have been a little wardrobe malfunction, so just to show support, here’s my chest,” quipped the “SNL” star as he lifted his shirt to reveal his nipple. To end the evening, Cyrus emphasized that the event was about adaptability, being able to go with the flow, and making the most out of challenging situations. She encouraged everyone to carry that resilience into the new year. Instead of viewing unexpected events as problems, they should be seen as opportunities. She wished everyone in Miami and watching from home a happy and prosperous 2022.
