The Colombian artist was clad in an ensemble that drew inspiration from the theme of “The Garden of Time.”
Shakira made a grand entrance at the iconic Met Gala 2024 staircase. Tonight marked the Colombian singer’s first appearance at the renowned fashion event, where she walked alongside Wes Gordon, the creative mind behind Carolina Herrera. She sparkled in a striking red outfit, custom-designed by Gordon to fit the “Garden of Time” theme. Her bold strapless gown boasted intricate cut-out accents and sleeves that elegantly transformed into a flowing train.
She paired the stunning attire with a classic Cartier brooch embellished with trapeze-shaped diamonds and a large Burmese ruby cabochon weighing around 30 carats, along with a dazzling diamond necklace and elegant ruby and diamond rings.
On the other hand, Gordon was looking sharp in a sleek suit and accessorized with three vintage D.A. N.D brooches from Boucheron dating back to the 1960s pinned on his jacket lapel.
Tonight’s Met Gala event is all about honoring the Costume Institute’s latest spring exhibit titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Featuring approximately 250 unique items from the institute’s collection, dating back 400 years, the event will showcase some hidden gems such as a 17th-century bodice from the Elizabethan era, iconic pieces by Elsa Schiaparelli and Christian Dior, as well as contemporary designs from renowned designers like Phillip Lim and Stella McCartney.
A close-up photo of Gordon’s stunning Boucheron brooches was shared today by the talented Grammy Award winner on her Instagram stories. She hinted at her appearance by showcasing beautiful creations from the Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion exhibit. Tonight, Shakira will grace the red carpet for the first time since the release of her 12th studio album, Women No Longer Cry, in March. It’s been almost six months since her last red carpet appearance at the 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in November 2023.
